Investment in marketing automation to double in 5 years

The investment companies make in marketing and customer service software will more than double in the next five years to $1.8 billion, sparking a hiring boom for expert operators who can maximise the return data-driven marketing platforms can deliver.

According to a Gartner report, Australian companies spent $868 million on customer service, marketing, sales and e-commerce software last year, a figure that will grow 10 per cent this year to top $1bn. That is forecast to double in the ensuing three years, when it is expected to grow at more than 20 per cent a year.
